If John Doll can tell a long story interspersed with pictures, then by golly I’m in too.
After getting the Trouse entirely removed from the house seat we had this -

Notice the scraggly pine tree on the hill side. To the left of the teal shed (okay tool shed). The pine tree behind the teal tool shed is my award winning Virginia Pine.
If you look really close, you can make out three pine trees on the hill to the left of the shed.

So, I really dislike those pine trees on the hillside and decided to get rid of them. As you can see from the picture on the right, I used my new chain saw and dropped the tree in the middle of the vacant house seat. Good Job Chris.
However, I did manage to send the tree directly on top of the whiskey barrel planter, and yet the planter survived.

Yup, right on top of it. Could not do that again if I tried. Or could I?
So there was another tree behind the first. This second tree was both taller and larger around, but after cutting the first one down, I was confident in cutting the second one. Again, a wide open building site, plenty of room to drop a tree. And this is the shot of the second tree on the ground -

Notice the stump of the first tree in the photo and if you look close, you can see the whiskey barrel planter again. Just in case you need a better view, here is a closer shot.
Yup, two times I had the whole vacant lot available and both times I dropped a tree onto the whiskey barrel planter and both times it survived. One more pine tree to go, anyone care to guess as to where it will land?
I’ m betting you’re going to smash that planter to smithereens! But go for it! LOVE, M/K
Is this the whiskey half barrel planter with the blueberry sapling growing in it? I believe blueberries a good source of anti-oxidants and other beneficial vitamins and nutrients. So now I am saying to my self, “Is it possible that the the plant itself contains some chemical or have a ‘flora aura’ that might actually deflect a falling tree — twice?” Hhhmmmm!
Maybe you should consider planting blueberries around the perimeter of your new house — part of your homeowners insurance. Remember – “You’re in good hands with Stark Bros. Nursery!”
Just a guess but I’m thinking you have no trouse and you have no tool shed…but you have a nice planter to accentuate the new house when it’s done.
By the way, the Horseman finally did go to the doctor yesterday since his rib pain just wasn’t getting any better. The radiologist said there were two fractures in the 5th and 6th ribs – so, Marcia was right! – I almost died. The doctor said it would take 6-8 weeks to heal. He gave me a rib wrap, some pain killer and said I was an idiot! But let it be noted, I got back in the saddle despite massive internal injuries.
An idiot for getting back on the horse after the injury or for riding a horse in the first place or just an all around idiot?!!! K
is that story a lie too? Or did you really go to the doc this time? I just hope that you’re ok for China (and ok in general, I suppose
)!
So, Horseman, I am wondering if you paid extra for the psych opinion, ie. “you’re an idiot”, or did it come with the visit to your family Dr.? Also, I am wondering if you had massive injuries to your insides, or injuries to your massive insides.
As far as Korrie’s concern about your health as you travel to China, I believe your son (an apple that, by the way, did not fall far from the tree) already has friends in the Chinese medical profession. You’ll be fine. Wear your seat belt in the rickshaw!
And how was Wichita?
Is this stuff about Chris’s wine barrel planter? K
Who is OSU?
One Stroke Up or OSU is John Doll! K
So did you take down the third tree and what happened to the whiskey barrel planter? K/M
ps How about one more picture?
1- No lie. I let Katie & Judy listen to the radiologist’s message on my cell phone so they will be glad to vouch for me.
2- OSU: that is one great zinger! Perhaps it was massive injuries to massive insides.
3-Chris: Finish the story!
